It’s been a really great couple of weeks for the Trade Ocean brand – recognised by our international and local industry partners and securing important contracts.

Two in a row

At the 10th annual Global Logistics Network (GLN) conference in Bangkok, attended by David Jooste, Andre Assam and Michelle Kirov, Trade Ocean was voted as this year’s “Most Responsive Member – Middle East & Africa” for the second year in a row. “As our peers vote for the winner, this is a very credible award,” says David. “Let’s keep it up and aim to win this for a third time next year!” Andre also did his bit to lift Trade Ocean’s profile, being placed 3rd overall in the GLN golf tournament.

Signed and sealed Still on the international stage, Julian Roman and Darshan Dass represented Trade Ocean at the Planet Logistics Network (PLN) conference in Singapore. According to Darshan, the trip was successful with highlights including:

  • Business secured from Canada
  • Securing the air transport 5.5 tons
  • Landing airfreight shipments from Italy
  • Making new contacts in China
  • Meeting a very reliable agent in Ghana

Darshan says:
“Trade Ocean SA is very popular amongst PLN members. We needed to try to shorten our sessions in order to meet with other members that were not on our scheduler, resulting in Julian and I being the last to leave. We monitor our progress with PLN members on a quarterly basis, looking at enquiries, estimates, business received or referred, rates, service levels, etc.”

Treated

Back in SA, Trade Ocean recently achieved 3rd place in the 2012 Protea Hotels Shipping Awards. The Ships Agency (CPT) Admin ladies were treated at the award function held at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice. Our ladies were deservedly wined and dined before spending the night at the Cape Castle Hotel.
