QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in maritime operations, preferably in a ships agency or similar environment.
  • Proven experience in sales and business development within the maritime industry.
  • Proven experience in operations management with strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Deep knowledge of shipping industry regulations, port operations, and maritime logistics.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and sales tools would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maritime software systems.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages would be considered advantageous
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development:

  • Develop and implement robust sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Ships Agency industry.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.
  • Provide regular sales reports and analysis to senior management.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all operational activities, including planning, organizing, and controlling, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational performance and achieve business goals.
  • Manage a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve overall efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and supervise the arrival, departure, and turnaround of vessels, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Liaise with port authorities, customs, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Manage and resolve operational issues, including delays, disputes, and emergencies, promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all operational activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company’s competitive edge.
