MULTIPLE REPAIR FACILITIES

Cape Town offers multiple repair facilities suitable for many different vessel types and sizes. The dry-docking and repair facilities are owned by the parastatal Transnet National Ports Authority but all engineering, refrigeration, hydraulics, general repairs and maintenance work during a dry-docking in the port of Cape Town is carried out by private contractors. The available dry-docking facilities are Sturrock Dry Dock, Robinson Dry Dock and the Synchrolift.

Durban harbour offers extensive dry-dock repair facilities, including graving dock and two floating dry docks.  

Walvis Bay has three dry dock repair facilities: one Syncrolift operated by the port authority and two privately owned and operated floating dry docks.
