QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Pricing Professional (CPP), or certifications related to supply chain and logistics) would be advantageous.
- Proven Experience in Business Development, Pricing Analysis, or a related role, ideally within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Experience with Pricing and Contract Negotiations, particularly with carriers and service providers.
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Quotes:
- Analysing customer transportation requirements and preparing precise and competitive quotations.
- Collaborating with a diverse network of Suppliers to gather pricing information, transit time and capacity availability.
- Maintaining an extensive Database of standard pricing and rate structures related to ports and shipping lines.
- Price and Contract Negotiations:
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with Carriers and Service Providers to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with all Suppliers to facilitate effective negotiations.
Sales & Marketing:
- Identify potential markets and customers for business expansion.
- Actively participate in Industry Events and Trade Shows to promote Company’s services and establish a strong market presence.
- Coordinate various marketing functions i.e. organising customer events, client visitations and workshops.
- Travelling from time to time.
- Supporting the Marketing Directors responsibilities.
- Responsibility and involvement in external activities such as client visits, workshops, and meeting
Reporting:
- Generating monthly operational Statistical Reports to monitor performance.
- Creating Ad Hoc Reports as requested to provide valuable insights for decision-making.
- Assist with the compiling and updating of Standard Operating Procedures when required.
Clearing and Forwarding:
- Facilitating and executing Freight Booking with Shipping Lines once estimates have been accepted by the customers.
- Coordinating with Network Partners and Suppliers to execute forwarding activities at Foreign origin ports.
- Providing comprehensive Handovers and information to Route Controllers on accepted business and offering support when necessary.
- Assisting customers by furnishing information related to current or potential business or bookings.
Financial Intelligence Act Compliance & ISO Training
- Managing the onboarding process for new customers and ensuring their compliance with the Financial Intelligence Act (FIA) requirements.
- Ensuring that all FIA documentation is complete and Up to Date for customers and maintaining organised records.
- Scanning and uploading all FIA documentation onto Customers Profiles in NetSuite.
NetSuite:
- Offering support and training to Route Controllers / Operational Personnel on NetSuite functionalities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Update Sales Lead Records from Customer Visitations.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
