QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
- Matric
- Experience in the logistics industry as an Estimator beneficial or
have done estimates in this field. - Computer literacy: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Ship
Shape or any other customs EDI systems. - General knowledge of import and export operations
- General knowledge of sea, air and road import and export
operations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Understand customers’ business requirements
- Receive, analyse, and prepare estimates, tenders, proposals to
existing and new clients and overseas agents under supervision - Understand and determine Incoterm and quote accordingly
- Determine mode of transport required to ensure the most cost
effective and efficient mode of transport - All new and existing customer estimate requests for sea and
airfreight imports/exports as well as break bulk and OOG requests
to be handled under supervision - Gather origin charges, forwarding rates, clearing rates from agents,
shipping lines and transporters to compile and complete estimates - Source rates from transporters for general in-gauge cargo, break
bulk cargo, hazardous cargo and OOG cargo - Source rates from ports, transporters, warehouses, and carriers
- Submitting monthly status reports
- Assist all staff where needed
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Customer requirements are clearly understood and that these
are reviewed and agreed upon - Quotations are based on accurate and comprehensive
information, and that an acceptable profit is realized - Customer needs are satisfied, and business is obtained / retained
- Estimates are processed and sent to customers promptly
