MONACO BOAT SHOW

The entire trip was a highlight. It was a stunning location, Monaco! I stayed in Nice, which is beautiful and travelled by train each day to the exhibition. There were also amazing cars to see, all the toys you can think of for a luxury life style.

The trip was a success in terms of gathering information and making important contacts.  I got good feedback about Cape Town as a destination. I learnt much about the industry and met with yacht owners and charter companies. The traditional routes are the Mediterranean (May to Oct) and Caribbean (Nov – April). But yachts are getting bigger which means that they can navigate longer distances and cover all kinds of water; people are also looking for new, exciting destinations. There are some challenges to address but I’m confident that we’ll see more of these beautiful yachts in Cape Town, hopefully soon.
