Purpose
Instrumental in developing and executing the company’s commercial/operational strategy for the GENCO Vertical, to drive revenue growth and enhance market share in the airfreight industry. Reporting to the Operations Director, with a key role in dealing with clients’ shipments/forecast and fostering strategic partnerships.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
- National Certificate / Advanced Diploma / B Tech Degree / Bachelor’s Degree
- Degree in Freight / Transport Management would be advantageous.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
- Minimum 7 years in a similar senior commercial role
- Over 15 years in the Supply Chain, Shipping, Airfreight, and Logistics industry

- Design and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with company goals

- Ensure effective complaint resolution and client satisfaction

Unit/Division Management
- Oversee performance and shipment execution for client portfolios
- Engage directly with airlines on space, pricing, and operations
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and manage operational risks
Financial Management
- Contribute to and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and systems
- Resolve IATA credit queries and ensure timely reporting
People Management
- Build and lead high-performing teams
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Monitor staff performance and coordinate development initiatives
Ad Hoc Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by executive leadership
