It’s never easy to penetrate new territory but the Port Elizabeth team is chipping away and making all the right moves. Tide found out from Branch Manager Rene Walland how things were going in The Bay.
PLAN
The team started by contacting clients where there were existing relationships to let them know that Trade Ocean PE was open for business. Thereafter, the emphasis moved to new business, targeting industry specific prospects. With PE being a small town, word travels fast and word-of-mouth is also playing a positive role.
PROGRESS
It is early days but progress is being made. There has been great support from clients where there had been a relationship and from overseas agents of both Trade Ocean and Pentagon Freight. The wider network is working for us.
Regarding new prospects, there is definite interest in our rates and service offerings.
All of the Trade Ocean departments are very helpful and supportive – in a small environment word travels fast so excellent service is key.
